JAGITIAL: In the wake of spurt in Covid-19 cases, Vellulla Yellamma temple of Metpalli mandal was closed for devotees.
Corona cases have been on the rise in Metpalli and surrounding mandals in the second wave. Some gram panchayats have imposed lockdown voluntarily in their respective villages to check the spread of the virus.
The temple authorities, concerned over the alarming increase in cases, closed the shrine on Tuesday.
Since it is one of the famous temples in the area, devotees from different parts of the district and adjacent districts such as Nizamabad, Karimnagar, and Adilabad visit the shrine on Sunday and Tuesday.
