Jangaon: Local MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy has urged the farmers to take up dairy units along with the farming to generate regular income and also nutritional support to entire family.

Speaking after inaugurating a Bulk Milk Cooling Unit (BMCU) of 10,000 litres capacity in Narmetta mandal headquarters in the district on Friday, he said that the Karimnagar Dairy would come in handy for the dairy farmers by providing all necessary assistance as the Karimnagar dairy witnessing rapid growth and expansion of its operations. He said that the dairy units were the livelihood of the people of the upland Narmetta, Tharigoppula and other mandals of the Jangaon assembly constituency limits.

“However, of late, the farmers have stopped rearing milch animals and are focusing only on cultivation of paddy. This is a not a good sign. We must give priority to milch animals,” he said and called upon the farmers to take up dairy units to reap riches with regular source of income. Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwar Rao said that they were planning to open more BMCUs as part of the expansion of the Karimnagar dairy operations as well as for the increase of milk procurement.

Warangal District livestock development agency (DLDA) chairman Ch Prabhakar Reddy appreciated the Karimnagar dairy for making strides in milk procurement and sales for the benefit of the farmers as well as the company.

MPP Govardhan, ZPTC member Padma Venkat Reddy, Managing Director P Shankar, Directors Narayan Reddy, Limbadri, Surya Rao, Ravi and others were also present.
