Hyderabad: BJP State Mahila Morcha president Shilpa Reddy said the alleged sexual assault case filed against noted choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, professionally known as Jani Master, was a clear case of “Love Jihad” and that stringent action should be taken against the accused.
The State BJP Mahila Morcha chief alleged the choreographer trapped the 21-year-old woman as part of the “Love Jihad” and tortured her for five years. She claimed that Jani Master had a criminal history in the past and was sentenced to six months imprisonment by a court in 2019 in a case of assault on a woman in a college in 2015.
Coming down heavily on the State government for going slow on the case, Shilpa Reddy said there were allegations that some big names in film industry and ruling party leaders were involved in the case, hence the government was not taking serious steps to punish the guilty. As the Home Ministry was under Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, he had to tell the people of the State why the government was trying to shield the accused.
