Jannaram people to launch indefinite bandh opposing closure of road through Kawal Tiger Reserve

Mancherial: People from Jannaram mandal called for an indefinite bandh in protest of a new rule closing the road passing through Kawal Tiger Reserve from 9 pm to 6 am, to be in vogue from Wednesday.
In a statement, the people said that they would launch the closure of commercial establishments opposing the rule imposed by the forest department recently. They said that they were forced to travel a distance of 150 kilometres to reach their destination at night due to the norm. They demanded the officials to lift the rule immediately.
Some of their demands included to allow traffic on the road without any conditions throughout the day, not to collect environment cess from motorists for using the road. They regretted that the restriction was infringing on their freedom.
