Hyderabad: Former MLC and senior Congress leader T Jeevan Reddy once again criticised Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for encouraging turncoats from other parties while ignoring long-time Congress loyalists who, he said, have served the party with commitment.
Following the AICC announcement of new District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, several senior leaders expressed dissatisfaction and raised objections. Jeevan Reddy questioned the Chief Minister’s priorities, accusing him of sidelining leaders who stood by the party for years and instead promoting those who switched from rival parties.
At a meeting held in Jagtial, the former MLC launched a sharp attack on the Chief Minister in the presence of SC Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar.
“Our competition is not with rivals from other parties but with those at the Chief Minister level. In what way can development not be achieved by Congress leaders and how is it possible with defectors from other parties?” he asked.
Jeevan Reddy has also been vocal against the Chief Minister’s support for BRS turncoat MLA from his constituency, Dr Sanjay, who moved to the Congress. Though the MLA continues to maintain that he is still technically associated with the BRS, the former MLC has been raising the issue of his defection at every possible opportunity.
