Hyderabad: The duo from the city of Cochabamba in Bolivia tied the knot on top of Illimani – the highest mountain in the Cordillera Real of western Bolivia.
As per the sources, the event required a lot of preparation too, as it took the bride and groom three days to climb to the summit from Bolivia’s capital La Paz.
Not just the couple but several members of the wedding party were also tasked with carrying gowns, decorations and food up the mountain for the celebration – which was an extra 20kg of weight added to their backpacks.

Well, nature also seemed to welcome the couple with open arms with pleasant sunshine and temperatures which made the mountaintop ceremony extra special.
The high-altitude setting meant the couple said their vows at a height of 21,125 feet (6,439 metres) above sea level. Jhonny wore a mountaineering helmet and crampons (steel spikes on his feet) as he walked down a makeshift aisle bordered by bouquets of flowers – all the while being attached to his best man.
Whereas bride Heydi wore crampons, a long wedding veil and carried a bouquet of roses – and was guided to her husband-to-be by a rope.
According to sources, Agustin Gonzales, a mountaineer and the godfather who officiated the wedding, shared, “They are sportspeople and nature lovers, as well as mountain lovers. It is for that reason they decided to take their marriage vows on the summit of this mountain.”
“Well, we are very close to heaven and close to God and he blesses you, from the top of the Illimani mountain,” he added.
So, what is your dream wedding like?
