J&K LG Manoj Sinha participates in educational, spiritual events in Khammam
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited Khammam, where he participated in educational and spiritual programmes, inaugurated facilities at The Conroy School, felicitated award-winning teachers, and paid tributes at memorials dedicated to the family of former MP Nama Nageswara Rao.
Khammam: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha visited Khammam to participate in educational and spiritual events on Wednesday.
District Collector Divakara TS, Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt, Khammam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Agastya, Khammam based The Conroy School Chairman Nama Tarun and others welcomed Lieutenant Governor upon his arrival here.
At a programme at The Conroy School Manoj Sinha performed prayers at a monolithic Ganesha idol on the school premises, inaugurated an FM podcast studio set up at the school; released the school newsletter and presented badges to students as part of the investiture ceremony.
He also felicitated National Best Teacher Award recipients Nagabathina Bhaskar and Pesara Prabhakar Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the ‘No Bag Day’ initiative being practiced in the school every Saturday.
The Lieutenant Governor remarked that he was deeply impressed by the students’ discipline and talent. He lauded school chairman Nama Tarun for running the educational institution on a non-profit basis at a young age, in honor of his grandmother, Nama Varamma.
He advised students to set high goals and scale great heights in life, urging them to recognise the importance of education and grow into citizens who contribute to society. He visited the newly constructed Shiva temple in NSP Colony and performed ‘Abhishekam’ ritual.
Later, Manoj Sinha visited a memorial park dedicated to the parents of former MP Nama Nageswara Rao – Muttaiah and Varamma in Khammam and paid floral tributes at their statues. The ex-MP’s brother Seethaiah, the school principal Madhu and others were present.
