JLR India launches new SUV Defender
While the New Defender 90 priced from Rs 73.98 lakh is open for booking, it will be available for delivery from first quarter of financial year 2020-21.

Hyderabad: Completing the Land Rover brand story, Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the third product pillar Defender in India with the first two being Discovery and Range Rover. Defining it to be the toughest and most capable Land Rover, the luxury car maker launched the New Land Rover Defender in India. Offered with a 2.0 litre Turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 221 kW and 400 Nm of torque, the New Defender is available in two distinct body styles, the 90 (three door) and the versatile 110 (five door).
While the New Defender 90 priced from Rs 73.98 lakh is open for booking, it will be available for delivery from first quarter of financial year 2020-21. Meanwhile, the New Defender 110 is priced from Rs 79.94 lakh and has begun deliveries immediately.
Jaguar Land Rover India president and managing director Rohit Suri said, “The New Defender completes the Land Rover brand story and will make its place in the hearts of many people with a curious mind, love for authentic adventures, passion for travel and who dare & wish to go above and beyond in life.” Customers can choose from seven exterior colour options including Fuji White, Eiger Grey, Santorini Black, Indus Silver as well as options such as Tasman Blue, Pangea Green, and Gondwana Stone that are exclusive to the Defender.
Speaking about the future models being planned from Jaguar Land Rover, Suri said that the Jaguar I-Pace, its first electric SUV will be launched shortly. He also mentioned that the company is looking to consolidate its performance in the market by launching Plug-in Hybrids and Mild Hybrids in the near future. Jaguar Land Rover vehicles are available in India in 24 cities, through 27 authorised outlets in Ahmedabad, Aurangabad, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Kochi, Karnal, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Mangalore, Mumbai , Noida, Pune, Raipur, Surat and Vijayawada.
