Jubilee Hills bye-election heats up as BRS, BJP and Congress intensify campaign

With nomination filings complete, political parties have intensified their campaigns for the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election. Congress leaders joined BRS in a show of support for Maganti Sunitha, while Naveen Yadav led Congress efforts in Borabanda. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy rallied BJP workers to back Lankala Deepak Reddy, signalling a high-stakes contest.

Hyderabad: While the nomination filing process reached its peak, political parties sought to intensify their campaigns in the Jubilee Hills assembly by-poll. On Friday, the momentum picked up pace with parties and the candidates fielded by them actively hitting the campaign trail.

Meanwhile, some Congress party leaders and workers joined the BRS in the presence of Malkajgiri BRS MLA Marri Rajasekhar Reddy at SBH Colony in Jubilee Hills. Most of them were representatives of various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs).

The MLA also held review meetings with the BRS party cadre and workers at Srinagar Colony, encouraging them to work effectively for the victory of the BRS candidate, Maganti Sunitha.

On the other hand, while Congress party candidate Naveen Yadav filed his nomination, party leaders and workers campaigned in the Borabanda area. Union Minister for Mines, G Kishan Reddy, convened a meeting with BJP leaders, workers, and booth-level leaders at Rehmath Nagar and Srinagar Colony in the assembly segment, urging them to secure a win for the BJP candidate, Lankala Deepak Reddy.

On the fifth day of nominations, a total of 20 candidates filed 23 nominations on Friday, including Indian National Congress party candidate V Naveen Yadav. The last date for filing of nominations is October 21.
