Jubilee Hills MLA’s Facebook account duplicated by fraudsters for money

The fraudsters, using the fake account, sent friend requests to people seeking funds.

Hyderabad: Unidentified persons created a fake Facebook account of Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath and sent messages to his contacts seeking funds.

The fraudsters, using the fake account, sent friend requests to people. Citizens and supporters of the MLA who believed it to be a genuine account accepted the requests. Since then, they have been receiving messages seeking funds.

Though there are no reports of money collected using the profile so far, the MLA’s team has approached the police and lodged a complaint. The Jubilee Hills police have booked a case and are collecting technical details of the account.
