Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills police on Saturday have clarified that allegations by Mohd Ismail, a resident of Yousufguda accusing them of physically assaulting his minor son in connection with a case, were baseless.
These allegations are completely false, misleading, and appear to be motivated by ulterior motives, with an intent to obstruct the legal process, they said in a statement.
The police said that a complaint was received in December 2024 from a resident of Yousufguda, stating that the minor was involved in a serious offence involving invasion of privacy. Based on the complaint, a case was registered.
As per the facts, the investigation was conducted and the investigation revealed that the minor had attempted to secretly record videos of the complainant and his wife by placing a mobile phone through the ventilator opening above their bathroom.
The mobile phone used in the incident was seized, and all procedures were conducted strictly in accordance with law. As the case was attempted voyeurism, after completing the investigation, a final report was filed before the court.
“No illegal custody or physical assault or mistreatment were made to the minor at the time of inquiry or thereafter. During the enquiry, it has been learnt that he continued to attend school and participated in extracurricular activities,” the statement read.
The police further said that it was evident that the belated and contradictory statements made by the complainant, surfacing six months after the incident, were intended to mislead the public and malign the police.
