Jumbo Covid Care Facility inaugurated at RINL-Vizag Steel

Jumbo Covid Care Facility for treatment of Covid patients at Gurajada Kalakshetram and Hostel-1 at RINL-Vizag Steel
Visakhapatnam: Union Minister for Steel, Petroleum and Natural Gases, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the Jumbo Covid Care Facility with 300 beds (Phase-1) out of the planned 1000 bed facility for treatment of Covid patients at Gurajada Kalakshetram and Hostel-1 at RINL-Vizag Steel today through virtual mode here on Sunday.
In his keynote address, he lauded the efforts of RINL-Vizag Steel for raising to the occasion in the national interest by relentlessly working and becoming the savior of many lives pan-India during this pandemic time. He praised the team RINL for making swift and dedicated efforts in sending the first oxygen express to Maharashtra and also thanked the State government for extending all kinds of support required to start this Jumbo Covid Care facility in the premises of RINL-Vizag Steel.
Union Minister of State for Steel Faggan Singh Kulaste complimented team RINL for providing timely relief to the suffering Covid patients with the supply of LMO and now with this Jumbo Covid Care Facility with the support of AP government and Union Ministry of Steel.
AP Deputy Chief Minister and Minister, Health, Family Welfare & Medical Education Alla Srinivas, Minister for Mines P Ramachandra Reddy, Minister for Industries M.Goutham Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, and Anakapalle MP Dr.BV Satyavathi, Hon’ble MP (LS), Anakapalle attended the inauguration ceremony in virtual mode.
Earlier in his welcome address, PK Rath, CMD, RINL thanked the govt. of AP and Ministry of Steel for all the support they provided in starting the phase-1 of 1000 bed Jumbo Hospital facilities. He informed that all the necessary measures are being taken by RINL to combat Covid pandemic and till date 15,000 persons had been vaccinated among the RINL fraternity. He also said that around 6,700 tons of LMO has been supplied till date by RINL to AP, Maharashtra and Karnataka during this 2nd wave of Covid.
The salient features of the Jumbo Covid care facility of RINL, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant at Ukkunagaram Township which is ready with 300 Oxygen bed in the first phase include 100 Bed at Trainees Hostel-1 and 200 Bed at Gurajada Kalakshetram.
The Gurajada Kalakshetram complex is equipped with centralized Air Conditioned Covid wards, Central Oxygen supply with back up of 300 Jumbo Oxygen cylinders and 20 oxygen concentrators and 10 CIPAP machines. All beds are provided with Oxygen humidifiers with
distilled water & flow meters.
Spacious reception/ registration block with a Triage area is being manned by Doctors and paramedical staff. Wheel chair, Trolley with Oxygen cylinder and mask at the entrance and well stocked pharmacy with all emergency and routine drugs are arranged.
Medical supervision by Intensivist and Pulmonologist along with a trained team of Doctors, Nurses & other paramedical support staff are there for the round the clock service.
Free food facility is being provided for all on duty medical and paramedical contractual staff.
Along with an Ambulance facility for emergency transfer of patients other facilities like new toilet blocks and Hot and cold RO drinking water facility etc. are also made available.
