Jungle safari in MCC quarry forests inaugurated

Mancherial: MLA K Premsagar Rao formally inaugurated jungle safari facility introduced in Mancherial Cement Company formerly known as ACC quarry forests at Gadpur village in Hajipur mandal under Luxettipet range on Wednesday. He was joined by Collector Kumar Deepak.
Forest officials said that three tracks measuring 20 kilometers were developed covering the dense forests, grasslands, ancient Gandhari Khilla and percolation tanks and a lake formed in an abandoned quarry of Mancherial Cement Company formerly known as ACC, in the forests of Old Mancherial section. The facility was introduced to promote ecotourism in the district.
According to the officials, the safari can be booked by paying an entry fee Rs 2,100 for hiring a six-seater vehicle from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. A charge of Rs 350 for an extra person. Visitors need to pay Rs 200 per head if they trek Gandhari Khilla. Machans were created at three spots to help tourists take a short break during the ride.
