Just believed in my ability, says Ashutosh

Visakhapatnam: Ashutosh Sharma, who scripted a sensational win for Delhi Capitals against Lucknow Super Giants with a brilliant, unbeaten half-century in the IPL league match at Visakhapatnam on Monday night, said he really enjoyed the knock out there.

“My hard work pays off, so I am enjoying it. I was confident because it’s part of the game. I was really confident about my ability. Just followed the basics and believed in my ability,” Ashutosh informed the media in the post-match media briefing.

“ I was just following the process that I just want to go as much as later, so I will hit in the last, in slog overs and betting till the 20th over. I just want to say that last year was really good but it became history for me,” he said. Ashutosh said he would take the good things and positive things from the last season and this year.

“I applied myself and decided not to repeat the mistakes of last season. I am applying what I did in domestic cricket,” he said.

“The legend KP (Kevin Peterson) is in our dressing room, it’s good for us. I always talk to him about batting,” he added.

“I played this year Syed Mushtaq Ali also in Vizag, so I know the wicket, how it plays in the second innings. Vizag is good for me. I just want to thank the fans of DC and Vizag,” the star performer for Delhi Capitals said.

“It is just the beginning of the tournament. let’s see, we will do good in the coming season,” he said.

“I just, we were focusing on the process only, that’s it. No, I told you before also that I just believe in my ability while batting,” Ashutosh said.
