Hyderabad: BRS working president K T Rama Rao on Friday strongly defended the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, calling it very disruptive and innovative.
He disagreed with Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal’s remarks that some billionaire children simply repackage products as ‘healthy’ or ‘vegan’ and brand them as startups, suggesting better innovation.
“We have startups across space tech, fintech, robotics, and more, thriving despite hurdles imposed by antiquated laws, tariffs, and regulations,” he posted on X.
Rama Rao criticised the Centre’s approach, stating that India’s policies make it difficult for startups to dream big on the world stage.
“The government’s role is not to comment on who does what apps but to resolve issues and simplify regulations,” he added.
