Hyderabad: A team of Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam that visited the Kolanupaka site found a Kakatiya inscription on the Chandikamba temple antaralam step in the Kolanupaka Someswaralaya premises.

The inscription is written in the 13th century Telugu script, in the Telugu language. As it is built as a temple, the inscription is visible only on both sides. In the inscription, Kakatiya Maharaja Ganapatidev, who worshiped Warangallu Swayambhudev, is mentioned as Anumakonda puravareshvara.

The inscription was not found in its entirety due to the fact that the statute pillar was hidden under the wall as a temple. Given this, a request has been made to remove it and put it in museum.

“The new Telangana history group urge the Telangana Heritage department to remove the legislative pillar as a temple step and put it in the Kolanupaka museum,” said Sriramoju Haragopal, convener, Kotha Telangana Charitra Brundam.
