Minister Jagadish Reddy said CM K Chandrashekhar Rao had come up with the novel scheme of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak to help parents of girl child in the State
Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy distributing cheques of Kalyaana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubhrak to beneficiaries at a programme held in Suryapet on Monday.
Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Monday said that Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak schemes had emerged as a huge gift for families with daughters besides bringing about a change in the attitude of parents towards daughters.
Distributing cheques of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak to 587 beneficiaries at a programme held here, Jagadish Reddy said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had come up with the novel scheme of Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubharak to help parents of girl child in the State. After the launch of these schemes, no parent was considering daughter as a financial burden to them with the State government extending a helping hand in solemnising marriages of their daughters, he said.

Stating that no government in united Andhra Pradesh had even thought of such welfare schemes, the Minister said no other State in the country was implementing such schemes.
Listing out the schemes introduced by the State government for welfare of the different sections of the people, he termed them as a vision of the Chief Minister on solving the issues of all sections of people in the State.
Stating that the Chief Minister had ensure that Telangana State topped the country in welfare and developmental programmes, Jagadish Reddy said developmental projects and welfare schemes, most of which were the brainchild of the Chief Minister, had brought about significant change in the lives of the people particularly farmers and poor people. The welfare schemes taken up by the State government have become a model to the entire country and some of the States have emulated the them.
He pointed out that the State government has been earmarking major share of its budget to welfare sector every year and has also implemented the welfare schemes despite lean times. He said the onus was on the people of the State to support the Chief Minister on all occasions for better implementation of the welfare schemes.
Suryapet Municipal Chairperson P Annapurnamma, Zilla Parishad Vice Chairman Gopagani Venkata Narayana and others also attended the programme.
