Kamareddy: Nearly 3.38 lakh tonnes of paddy has been purchased from farmers in Kamareddy district during the ongoing Yasangi season. Similarly, efforts are being made to purchase another 80,000 tonnes in the district to achieve the target and complete paddy procurement before May 31, said Kamareddy Collector Sharath.
On Saturday, the Collector inspected paddy procurement at Banswada and conducted a review meeting with the officials of Revenue, Civil Supplies, Marketing departments along with rice millers at Banswada RDO office. He said that quality control norms should be followed during paddy purchase, paddy should be immediately shifted to rice mills and also equipment should be shifted to other purchasing centres to speed up procurement.
He directed all the officials to expedite paddy procurement in the district to achieve target and complete procurement by May 31.
Kamareddy Additional Collector B Venkata Madhava Rao, Civil Supplies DM Jithendra Prasad, DSO Kondal Rao among other officials participated.
