Khammam: The Kamma Mahajana Sangham, in an open letter, has found fault with the remarks being made by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and some YouTubers against Andhra Jyothi ABN group’s MD Vemuri Radhakrishna.

The open letter, released in the backdrop of ongoing tussle over alleged irregularities in SCCL’s coal tenders, has become viral on social media platforms. The sangham alleged that some ‘pseudo-journalists and blackmailers’ were using YouTube channels to blackmail and ignite caste conflicts.

Andhra Jyothi newspaper had published a report alleging that Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) had included a site visit clause in the Naini coal mine tender in Odisha, preparing the ground to award the contract to favoured contractors.

The report, allegedly based on information provided by experienced mining companies who faced difficulties in obtaining the site visit certificate, was published in Andhra Jyothi on January 17. The following day, Bhatti Vikramarka held a press conference and announced the cancellation of the Naini tenders.

“When Radhakrishna exposed the flaws in the Mine Developer Operator (MDO) contract for the Naini coal mine tender, Bhatti Vikramarka, with great integrity, cancelled the tender. But YouTube journalists were criticising Radhakrishna,” the sangham complained.

“If you commit corruption and then launch a counter-attack under the cover of caste, we will teach you a lesson. This is the final warning. If you utter nonsense against Radhakrishna in the name of caste, we will show you the pride of the Kamma caste in a democratic way. Hired intellectuals, fake YouTube journalists and Bhatti Vikramarka, must respond,” it noted.

“You are holding press conferences and making baseless accusations against the Kamma caste while YouTube channels are targeting Radhakrishna. Should we demonstrate the strength of our Kamma community in your Madhira constituency in support of Radhakrishna, who stands as a symbol of our Kamma community’s pride? You should think about this wisely,” the sangham added.
