Siddipet: Members of Karnataka BC Commission led by BC Commission Chairman Jayaprkash Hegde visited BC Welfare Residential Degree College and Residential School at Wargal in Sididpet district on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayaprkash Hegde hailed the commitment of the Telangana government towards the welfare of Backward Classes.
Telangana BC Commission Chairman Vakulabaranam Krishna Mohan explained to the visiting team how the Telangana government was providing quality education to students beginning from Class V. He said overseas scholarships were also being provided to BC students to realise their dream of studying abroad. Krishna Mohan said that Kalyana Lakhsmi has come as a great relief to the parents during their daughter’s marriages.
Suggesting the girl students put the facilities to optimum utilisation, Karnataka BC Commission Chairman Jayaprakash Hegde called upon them to aim for higher goals such as becoming civil servants or landing a corporate job. Principal Secretary BC Welfare Department Burra Venkatesham, Additional Collector Muzammil Khan, Members of Karnataka and Telangana BC Commissions were present.
