Karimnagar: 16 arrested in car driver murder case
According to Police, Accused persons had a grudge against the victim Thirupati, holding him responsible for stopping payment of compensation for land acquisition for the LMD project

Karimnagar: Thimmapur police on Monday arrested 16 persons on charges of killing a car driver Nishani Thirupati near Nedunur of Thimmapur mandal on July 29 night.
Producing the accused before mediapersons at Thimmapur police station on Monday, Additional DCP (Law and Order) S Srinivas said the accused persons had a grudge against Thirupati holding him responsible for stopping payment of compensation for land acquisition for the LMD project.
Giving details, Srinvias said, 475 people from Nedunur lost their land under Lower Manair Dam project. As land oustees filed the case in the court, SRSP officials deposited Rs 12 crore in the court towards compensation in the year 2015. So far, 200 oustees were paid compensation through the court.
A lawyer from the village is arguing the case in the court and the deceased person was working as a driver to the advocate. The remaining oustees, who had not got compensation so far, believed that Thirupati was deliberately preventing their compensation by influencing the advocate.
The oustees, who developed a grudge against Thirupati, allegedly decided to change advocate by eliminating Thirupati. According to their plan, the main accused person Goda Surender entered into a deal with one Vithanala Nagaraju of Korutla, Jagitial district at Rs 1.5 lakh to kill Thirupati and paid Rs one lakh.
On July 29 night, Goda Surender along with Vithanala Nagaraju, Pilli Satyanarayana of Mallapur of Jagitial, Vithanala Trimurthy alias Murthi of Chinthakunt of Kothapalli mandal kidnapped Thirupati in a car from Gundlapalli of Ganneruvaram mandal. Later, they killed him by attacking with axes and dumped the body in bushes in the outskirts of Nedunur.
Based on the complaint by the family members, Thimmapur police registered the case and began investigation by forming special teams. Goda Srinivas, Goda Narender, Jannavarapu Rajaiah, Nedunuri Yellaiah, Nedunuri Gangaraju, Goda Praveen, Pondurthi Thirupati, Kalwa Sampath, Ontela Ganapathi Reddy, Ontela Venkat Reddy and Dadi Komuraiah were also arrested.
Karimnagar rural ACP Vijayasaradhi, Thimmapur CI Shashidhar Reddy and others were present.
