Karimnagar: A three-day national symposium ‘Sreshta 2k21’ kick-started at Sree Chaitanya College of Engineering here on Tuesday.

The Department of Civil Engineering is conducting the symposium which was inaugurated by the Principal of Jagtial JNTU, Dr V Venkateshwar Reddy. About 300 students and scholars will present research papers. They will also participate in technical quiz, town planning and other events.

After launching the symposium, Venkateshwar Reddy said the syllabus was being updated every three years based on changes taking place in technology across the world. Teachers, as well as students, should update their knowledge by keeping themselves abreast of the changing technology, he said.

In the civil engineering sector, green and smart buildings have replaced concrete buildings, he said while stating that civil engineering was a mother to all other branches.

Sree Chaitanya Educational Institutions Chairman, M Ramesh Reddy said models prepared by students would help in updating their knowledge according to changing trends. He emphasized the need to conduct workshops every year to educate students about modern technology instead of confining themselves to academic curriculum.
