Karimnagar: The BRS district unit has strongly condemned the arrest of Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy, accusing the Congress government of registering false cases to suppress dissent and intimidate its cadre.
In a statement on Saturday, BRS district president GV Ramakrishna Rao said Kaushik Reddy was arrested for questioning the government’s failure in implementing welfare schemes.
He alleged that the arrest was part of a larger conspiracy to create panic among BRS workers, but asserted that the party cadre was prepared to face any situation.
The BRS leader added that the Congress government had lost public confidence after failing to fulfil its pre-election promises.
“To divert people’s attention from its failures, the government is booking illegal cases against leaders who are questioning its governance,” he said.
He further alleged that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was deliberately targeting Kaushik Reddy out of political vendetta, and demanded the MLA’s unconditional release.
