Karimnagar: Collector RV Karnan advised Dalits to develop economically by utilising the units sanctioned under Dalit Bandhu scheme in proper way. Then only the dream of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who introduced the scheme, for comprehensive development of the Dalit families in the State, would be fulfilled.
The Collector on Saturday inspected dairy units, cloth stores, supermarkets, cement and iron units in Kanukulagidda and Chelpur of Huzurabad mandal, Korapalli and Jammikunta of Jammikunta mandal established by beneficiaries under the scheme.
Interacting with beneficiaries, he enquired about the business and income they were getting per month. Karnan informed that it was possible to reap riches within a short period with dairy units. The beneficiaries could get the highest quantity of milk if buffaloes are provided adequate fodder and nutritious green grass.
He said, cement and iron were essential to construct houses. So, the beneficiaries, who established cement and iron shops, would also get more benefits. Interacting with elderly people, the Collector enquired whether they were getting pensions and ration on time, and he advised the people to follow Covid norms to protect themselves from third wave.
