Karimnagar: Congress activists raise voice against party leadership
They expressed anger at the party for neglecting them after coming to power in the State. Though they were working for the party for a long time, they were not given priority while selecting persons for nominated posts.

Karimnagar: Internal bickering in the Congress party came to the fore with a section of the leaders and activists raising their voice against the state leadership.
Some of the party activists had organised an emergency meeting in the District Congress Committee meeting here on Wednesday. Karimnagar constituency in-charge Purumalla Srinivas, a few other leaders and workers participated in the meeting.
They expressed anger at the party for neglecting them after coming to power in the State. Though they were working for the party for a long time, they were not given priority while selecting persons for nominated posts. On the other hand, those who recently joined were given priority. Why were they not given opportunities in Satavahana Urban Development Authority and market committees, they asked.
Purumalla Srinivas said though he was the in-charge of the segment, he was consulted while taking decisions pertaining to Karimnagar constituency. The nominated posts and allocation of funds for developmental works were all decided upon without his knowledge, he said, adding that even the chairpersons for SUDA and district library were appointed without his knowledge.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was saying that he (Srinivas) was in-charge and equal to the MLA of the constituency. However, the ground level situation was completely different, he said.
