Karimnagar: A local television channel reporter from Karimnagar town, Mekala Satyanarayana alias Satyam, who was bedridden for the last eight months after he was infected with black fungus, died on Saturday night.
Satyanarayana, known as city cable Satyam, was infected with Covid-19 during the second wave. After recovery, he was infected with black fungus and an eye and limbs were paralysed. Though he underwent treatment in various hospitals in Karimnagar and Hyderabad, there was no progress and has been bedridden. On Saturday, he developed complications and his family members shifted him to Chelmeda Ananda Rao hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.
Satyam, who started his career as a cameraman in city cable two decades ago, became a reporter and worked with Swetha and MY3 channels. He is survived by his wife and daughter.
