Karimnagar resident’s family donates organs under Jeevandan scheme
Rajesh Kumar Chiluveri, a 37-year-old private employee from Karimnagar, was declared brain-dead following a road accident on September 20. After being shifted to Hyderabad for treatment, his wife consented to donate his organs under the Jeevandan initiative.

Hyderabad: Family members of a 37-year-old private employee Rajesh Kumar Chiluveri, a resident of Kannapur, Karimnagar, who was declared brain-dead by doctors, have decided to donate his organs to needy patients under the State-run Jeevandan initiative.
On September 20, while travelling on his two-wheeler, Rajesh sustained serious injuries in a collision with another two-wheeler in Karimnagar.
He was first shifted to a local private hospital and later to Hyderabad where after treatment at the private hospital, Rajesh was declared brain-dead on September 24. The consent to donate his organs was given by his wife, A Swapna.
The surgeons retrieved a liver, two kidneys, a lung and two corneas, which were allocated to needy patients based on Jeevandan guidelines.
