Karimnagar: Arrangements have been made to bring Gulf migrant Lokini Krishna Murthy, who has been in a coma for the past 40 days, from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to Hyderabad.
Krishna Murthy was boarded on a Saudi Airlines flight under the supervision of medical staff. His wife, Ashwini, is accompanying him. They are expected to arrive in Hyderabad on Monday morning, after which he will be admitted to Deccan Hospital.
A software engineer from Elkaturthy mandal, Krishna Murthy developed health complications and fainted on July 23. He was admitted to SMC Hospital in Riyadh, where doctors confirmed he was in a coma due to nerve damage in the brain following high blood pressure. His condition remains extremely critical, requiring long-term neurocritical care and rehabilitation.
On September 9, his father, Suraya, submitted a representation to the CM Pravasi Prajavani programme in Hyderabad, requesting assistance to shift Krishna Murthy to the city. Responding positively, BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar coordinated with the Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia to facilitate the transfer.
The move was further coordinated by NRI Advisory Committee vice-chairman Manda Bheem Reddy and Global Telangana Forum, Saudi president Mohammed Jabbar, ensuring the patient’s safe transit to Hyderabad.
