Karimnagar: Allegedly vexed with the sexual harassment by a close cousin, a married woman committed suicide. The lady recorded a selfie video before hanging herself with a rope. This bizarre incident took place in Karimnagar on Thursday.

According to police, Aruna, a resident of Kapuwada of Karimnagar town, hanged herself from the ceiling in the home when other family members went outside.

In the selfie video recorded by her before taking extreme step, she explained that her brother-in-law, Munjam Kanakaiah was harassing her to fulfill his sexual desires. Otherwise, he was threatening to project her character badly among the public.

Informing that she maintained the family by continuing the tailoring profession even in difficult times, they never borrowed money from anybody.

During the time of Covid pandemic, they took Rs 10,000 each from Kakanaiah and one of her friends Lavanya. Though Kanakaiah gave the amount to her husband, he was lying that he gave Rs 30,000 to her and mounting pressure to clear that amount.

Recently, Kanakaiah sent a message through another person, Munjam Odelu asking her to either make a phone call or meet him. Unable to tolerate torture, she has decided to end life.
