Karimnagar Women PS Inspector booked in suicide case

In a selfie video recorded before his suicide, Sravan Kumar stated that the Karimnagar Women Police Station CI, his wife Neelima, his mother-in-law, and others were responsible for his death.

Karimnagar: Choppadandi police on Sunday registered a case against Karimnagar women police station Inspector Srilatha in connection with the suicide of Kadari Sravan Kumar. Sravan Kumar, who attempted suicide,by consuming pesticide on July 7, died while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Karimnagar on Sunday.

In a selfie video recorded by him before taking an extreme step, Sravan Kumar made it clear that the Karimnagar women police station CI, his wife Neelima, his mother-in-law, Naveen, Praveen and Prasanna were responsible for his death.

Based on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s father Narsingam, Choppadandi police registered a case against CI Srilitha and others.

According to police, a native of Choppadandi, Sravan Kumar was working as a record assistant in Karimnagar Rural Tahsildhar office. He got married to Battula Neelima of Savaran street of Karimnagar town on June 2, 2021. Neelima is working as a conductor in Karimnagar TGSRTC depot.

The couple, who have a daughter, used to quarrel with each other. In May, Neelima lodged domestic violence and dowry harassment cases against her husband Sravan Kumar and in-laws. As part of the investigation, women police summoned Neelima’s husband to the police station.

Upset over the incident, Sravan Kumar attempted suicide by consuming pesticide in Choppadandi on July 7. Family members shifted him to a hospital in Karimnagar where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment on Sunday.
