Karimnagar: Unable to get money from a private chit fund owner, a youngster Arukala Sai Kumar, attempted suicide by consuming a pesticide in Vilasagar of Jammikunta mandal on Saturday. He recorded a selfie video with his mobile phone while consuming the pesticide.

Explaining the reasons for his decision in the selfie video, Sai Kumar said that he paid Rs 6 lakh to a private chit fund owner Naralashetti Rakesh by depositing some amount every month.

Though the period of chit was completed, Rakesh was not returning the amount. Moreover, the chit fund owner also utilized his credit cards as well as gold chain. Bankers were mounting pressure on him as the credit card amounts were not cleared.

So, he decided to end his life. Local police shifted him to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
