Karwan MLA’s wife unanimously elected sarpanch of Baswapur
Former GHMC Corporator Najma Sultana, wife of Karwan MLA Syed Kausar Mohiuddin, was unanimously elected sarpanch of Baswapur village in Veldurthi mandal. Despite her husband’s political career in Hyderabad, the family has maintained strong ties with their native village.
Medak: Former GHMC Corporator Najma Sultana, wife of Karwan MLA Syed Kausar Mohiuddin, was unanimously elected as the sarpanch of Baswapur village in Veldurthi mandal on Sunday.
Kausar, who was born and brought up in Baswapur, moved to Hyderabad and joined the AIMIM, yet continued to maintain strong relations with residents of his native village. His son had contested from Baswapur in the 2019 elections but lost. This time, villagers decided to elect Najma unanimously.

Speaking on the occasion, Najma said she would ensure overall development of the village over the next five years. Baswapur has 699 voters.
