Mumbai: Bollywood star couple Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal on Tuesday announced that they are expecting their first child.
In a collaborative Instagram post, the couple shared a polaroid picture where Katrina is seen with a blossoming baby bump, gently held by Vicky.
“On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude,” they wrote in the caption.
Industry friends rushed to congratulate the couple. Janhvi Kapoor wrote: “Congratulations, Congratulations, Congratulations.” Ayushmann Khurrana commented, “Congratulations guys.” Sonam Kapoor dropped heart emojis, while Varun Dhawan said his “heart is full” after hearing the news.
Katrina and Vicky tied the knot in 2021 in an intimate ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan. Pregnancy rumours had surfaced recently, but the couple chose to remain silent until the official announcement.
Their love story has often captured attention, from a playful staged proposal at an award show to their first real interaction at a Karan Johar party that sparked their bond.
On the work front, Vicky was last seen in the blockbuster Chhaava, a historical action drama based on the life of Sambhaji, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire, adapted from Shivaji Sawant’s novel Chhava. The film also starred Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna.
Katrina was last seen in Sriram Raghavan’s Merry Christmas (2024), a mystery thriller co-starring Vijay Sethupathi. The film, also featuring Ashwini Kalsekar, Luke Kenny and Pari Maheshwari Sharma, was based on Frédéric Dard’s French novel Le Monte-charge (Bird in a Cage).
