Kaushik Reddy to educate villagers on dumping yard hazards
Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has launched a campaign to oppose the proposed dumping yard near Huzurabad, warning of severe health and environmental hazards for residents within a 30-kilometre radius. He completed a 24-hour deeksha supported by various sections of society.

Karimnagar: Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy has decided to educate the people about the complications arising from the dumping yard by visiting each and every village.
Kaushik Reddy, who started a 24-hour deeksha against the dumping yard on Tuesday, completed his deeksha on Wednesday when the JAC members offered juice to the legislator.
Speaking on the occasion, Kaushik Reddy thanked all the sections of society who supported his protest. Stating that it was not his personal agitation, the MLA said that he was fighting for the future of the people of Huzurabad.
There was no question of allowing the government to establish the dumping yard, he made it clear and informed that he would continue the agitation till the government withdrew its decision to establish a dumping yard near Huzurabad. People residing in 30-kilometre radius would develop health problems if the garbage from Karimnagar and Warangal was dumped at Sirsapalli.
Besides Huzurabad, people belonging to Shankarapatnam, Jammikunta, Ellandakunta, Saidapur, Elkathurthy and Kamalapur mandals would be affected. Agricultural lands, crops and the environment would also be affected. Emphasizing the need to unite all political parties for the public cause, he wanted the union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender to join the agitation.
Various sections of the people including doctors, medical workers, walkers, traders, wives of traders and women from surrounding villages supported the MLA’s deeksha.
On the other hand, the protest deeksha being undertaken at Ambedkar chowk, Huzurabad town by the JAC has reached its 16th day on Wednesday.
