Hyderabad: Triveni Season 3, the Annual Music Festival, is being organised by Surmandal, the city-based 57-year-old cultural organisation, on January 4 at 7 pm at Ravindra Bharati.
Surmandal has played a pivotal role in turning Hyderabad into a classical music capital. Triveni Season 3 will feature Kaushiki Chakraborty, one of the foremost exponents of the Patiala Gharana and among the most celebrated voices of Indian classical music today.
In 2015, Kaushiki founded Sakhi, India’s first all-women Indian classical ensemble and later launched Anubhuti, a fusion project that reinterprets classical motifs for contemporary audiences. She will be accompanied by Yashwanth Vaishnav on tabla, Murad Ali on sarangi, and Tanmay Deochake on harmonium.
During the concert, renowned Hyderabad-based painter Sachin Jaltare will create a live artwork drawing inspiration from the music being performed on stage. The artwork will be used to support Sparsh Hospice, a centre for terminally ill cancer patients that provides compassionate end-of-life care completely free of cost, supported by the Rotary Club of Banjara Hills.
