Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has strongly criticized the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi for their silence during the debate on the controversial Waqf Amendment Bill, 2025.

Kavitha accused the Gandhi siblings of neglecting their responsibility towards the rights of millions of minorities affected by the bill.

In a scathing attack, Kavitha stated, “The silence of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi during the Waqf Bill debate speaks volumes.

When the people needed voices, the ‘Election Gandhis’ gave them only an absence.” She emphasised that their lack of action reflects performative politics, which the people of Telangana can see through.
