Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha on Monday launched a broadside against both the Congress and BJP, charging them with orchestrating a political drama to divert attention from the Backward Classes (BC) reservations issue. She said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay were deliberately shifting focus from the flaws in the recent caste survey.
“Instead of addressing the incorrect BC census, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has conveniently started a debate on whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a BC or not. In response, Bandi Sanjay is questioning Rahul Gandhi’s religion. What does it matter if Modi is a BC or not? What does Rahul Gandhi’s religion have to do with anything? Our demand is simple – an accurate BC caste census,” she asserted.
Speaking to media persons at Erravalli on Hyderabad outskirts, Kavitha challenged the Congress government to introduce a bill in the Telangana Assembly to ensure BC rights and called on the BJP to approve it at the Centre.
“Why are Modi and Rahul silent on the real issue, unless both parties are working together to mislead people,” she said.
Blaming both parties for betraying BCs, the BRS MLC warned them against exploiting marginalised communities for political gains.
“Telangana has witnessed numerous political conspiracies, and we have defeated them all. The people will not tolerate this deception,” she stated.
She also took aim at the Congress government’s performance in the State, declaring that in its 14-month rule, it had failed to resolve a single issue. “Revanth Reddy is making people wait endlessly with hollow words and empty promises. His government is pushing the people of Telangana into misery,” she said.
On the occasion of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s birthday, Kavitha called him a leader who risked his life for Telangana. She stated that he is not just a politician, but an emotion that unites the people of Telangana.
“On his birthday, people are not just celebrating him; they are worshipping him for his sacrifices,” she said. With public support, she asserted, Chandrashekhar Rao would continue to lead Telangana forward with renewed strength.
