Hyderabad: BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruthi founder K Kavitha questioned the Congress government on unfulfilled promises to Telangana’s youth and urged the people to confront the ruling party leaders in this regard. She criticised Congress Lok Sabha leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for abandoning the youth, after the elections.
Addressing a meeting of Telangana Jagruti representatives from erstwhile Adilabad and Rangareddy districts here on Friday, Kavitha said the Congress government’s promises including educational, financial support schemes and employment, were yet to materialise. She pointed out that initiatives like the Rs 5 lakh Vidya Bharosa card and aid under the Vidya Jyothi scheme remained unimplemented.
On electoral promises of the Congress government, the BRS MLC sought clarity on the timelines for Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance for women, Rs 40 per litre petrol, and the distribution of two-wheelers to girl students. She also noted delays in fee reimbursements promised for BC students and questioned the progress of job recruitments announced by the government.
Financial support to Gurukul student’s family
In a separate development, Kavitha announced financial aid of Rs 2 lakh to the bereaved family of Sailaja, a student who passed away while undergoing treatment for food poisoning at the government residential welfare school in Wankidi of Nirmal district. She urged the government to provide additional support, including a job, agricultural land, and housing for the family. She also announced plans to visit Sailaja’s family soon.
