Hyderabad: Questioning the stoic silence being maintained by the Congress leadership on cases of human rights violation in Telangana, BRS leader and MLC K Kavitha on Saturday launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for the deteriorating situation in the State.

In a series of tweets, she accused Rahul Gandhi of choosing to be silent on the alleged human rights violations under the Congress-led Telangana government. Kavitha urged him to visit the University of Hyderabad and meet students who faced lathis, false cases, and arrests for protesting against forest destruction.

She questioned his commitment to democracy, stating, “You roam the country with the Constitution in hand. Why the silence when your CM Revanth Reddy in Telangana is violating human rights and mocking democracy?”

Highlighting the Congress regime’s 16-month tenure, Kavitha described it as a period of false promises and blatant lies. She cited incidents in Lagacherla and the suppression of Banjara communities, which were reportedly confirmed by the National Human Rights Commission as acts of brutality.

Kavitha also demanded answers regarding the Congress’s unfulfilled “Six Guarantees,” including the partial implementation of the Rs 2 lakh farm loan waiver, the weakening of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, and the failure to deliver on promises such as Kalyana Lakshmi, one tola gold, Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women, and scooters for 18-year-old girls.

“Telangana awaits answers. When will your six guarantees and 420 promises be fulfilled?” she questioned.
