Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha raised serious concern over the rising incidents of crimes against women in Telangana, citing recent atrocities in Nagarkurnool district and the assault on a German tourist in Hyderabad. Demanding immediate action, she urged the government to wake up from its slumber and prioritise women’s safety before the situation worsens any further.

She criticised the Congress government for its failure to ensure women’s safety, pointing out that official data shows a 22 per cent rise in crimes against women.

“The law and order situation has clearly deteriorated, yet Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy remains indifferent,” she said, asking reasons behind his inaction.
