Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao extended Ugadi greetings to the people of Telangana. He termed the festival a symbol of renewal, hope and the beginning of the agricultural year.

In his message, Chandrashekhar Rao said Ugadi holds special significance marking commencement of agricultural activities afresh. He stated that the festival marked the transition of nature from winter to spring, bringing new foliage, new hopes and fresh resolutions, and signifying the cyclical renewal of time.

He said the Sri Parabhava new year conveyed the philosophy of overcoming negative traits like hatred and arrogance, allowing noble thoughts and values to prevail. He hoped that the people of the State would overcome present hardships and challenges, while wishing that Telangana would regain its past glory and move forward on the path of progress.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao also conveyed greetings on the occasion of Ugadi, wishing that the new year would usher in victory of good over evil and bring auspiciousness, long life and good health to the people.

BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao said Ugadi symbolised the blend of sweet and bitter experiences in life, much like the traditional Ugadi Pachadi which combines different tastes. He wished that the Telugu new year would bring happiness, prosperity and freedom from illness to all sections of society.
