Hyderabad: Streets in many areas turned pink and colourful processions were taken out by TRS party workers raising ‘Jai KCR’ slogans as part of the three-day KCR Mahila Bandhu Women’s Day celebrations, which commenced on a grand note across the State on Sunday.
Huge portraits of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao were set up at several important junctions in the State. And, women, especially, who are beneficiaries under Kalyana Lakshmi, KCR kits, single women pensions and other welfare programmes, tied rakhis to the Chief Minister’s portraits as part of the celebrations.
Following TRS Working president KT Rama Rao’s appeal, TRS leaders and workers organised different prorgammes as part of the festivities. At many places, sanitary workers, students, doctors, ASHA workers, ANMs and SHG members were felicitated by the party leaders in recognition of their achievements in respective fields.
At a special programme organized at Banswada stadium, Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy felicitated Anganwadi workers, hospital nurses, and women sportspersons.
