KCR pays tribute to Konda Laxman Bapuji, hails his role in Telangana struggle
BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao recalled how Bapuji offered his Jaladrishyam residence as a a platform for the Telangana movement, despite pressure from anti-Telangana forces in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.
Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid tribute to Konda Laxman Bapuji on his death anniversary, remembering his pivotal role as the first generation leader who championed for Telangana’s identity and self-respect. He praised Bapuji for his dedication towards the cause, especially sacrificing his ministerial position in support of Telangana statehood.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao recalled how Bapuji offered his Jaladrishyam residence as a a platform for the Telangana movement, despite pressure from anti-Telangana forces in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. He said this gesture remains an unforgettable moment in his struggle for statehood.
The former Chief Minister explained how Bapuji’s sincerity, humility, and determination, have influenced his own leadership. He affirmed that Bapuji’s aspirations were reflected in the BRS’s decade-long governance, especially in efforts to uplift weaker sections of society.
During the BRS regime, Chandrashekhar Rao said several initiatives were undertaken to honour Bapuji’s contributions as a lawyer and statesman, whose efforts spanned from India’s Independence movement to the final stages of Telangana’s formation. He stated that Bapuji’s legacy remains a guiding light for future generations.
