KCR pays tributes to poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on birth anniversary

Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao paid rich tributes to Padma Vibhushan awardee and people’s poet Kaloji Narayana Rao on the eve of his birth anniversary on Tuesday. He said the life of Kaloji who revolted against the wrong, was an enduring inspiration.
In a statement, Chandrashekhar Rao recalled Kaloji’s immense contribution and strong influence of his literature on the Telangana statehood movement. He said the then BRS government had institutionalised Kaloji’s legacy by declaring his birth anniversary as Telangana Language Day and honouring the State’s writers and poets by instituting an award in his name.
He said the BRS had named the State Medical University after Kaloji and constructed the Kaloji Kala Kshetram in Warangal.
“From birth to death, Kaloji’s writings embodied Telangana’s spirit. His life and work remain a timeless ideal,” he added.
