Karimnagar: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao spoke to Vasala Ramaswamy, a Dalit leader from the Huzurabad Assembly constituency, over the phone and invited him for a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, Hyderabad, on July 26.
The Chief Minister will meet 427 Dalits from the Huzurabad constituency to discuss Dalit Bandhu to be launched in the Assembly segment on a pilot basis. Four Dalits, including two women, have been selected from each village to attend the meeting.
“Ramaswamy, your name was not included in the resource persons list. I came to know about you through an intelligence report. I instructed the Chief Secretary to include your name on the list. You, as a resource person, have to tour the entire State as part of the implementation of the scheme,” the Chief Minister told him over the phone on Thursday night.
Stating that the future of the entire Dalit community in Telangana is dependent on Dalit Bandhu, the Chief Minister said it is necessary to go ahead with absolute clarity. “Dalit Bandhu is a great scheme. It is going to be a role model for the entire nation as well as the world. There is no question of going back on the issue, and the scheme will be implemented successfully in the coming two years,” he said.
