Nizamabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao pitch-forked Telangana State into the number one position in the country through various development works, said Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Wednesday.

Interacting with media persons after hoisting the national flag at the Collectorate office on account of Telangana Formation Day celebrations, he said the State was achieving development in all sectors and the Chief Minister was relentlessly striving for the welfare of the people since 2014.


“We achieved Telangana with the sacrifices of thousands of youths during the Statehood movement,” he said. Fulfilling the aspirations of people and solving their problems for the last seven years, the Chief Minister made Telangana number one State that was worthy of emulation by other States in the country, Reddy said.

Asara pensions and Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak scheme, 2BHK houses, residential schools, 24-hour quality power supply to agriculture sector, construction of check dams, Kaleshwaram project, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes were among the initiatives introduced since 2014.

“We are now able to achieve the development that was not seen during the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh,” he said. As many as 1.33 lakh government jobs and 15 lakh private jobs were provided after the formation of Telangana, water was supplied to 2.15 crore acres to meet irrigation requirements.

The Minister said modernization works of SRSP project would be completed soon to fill it with Kaleshwaram water from 300 km shortly. Works pertaining to package 21 to provide water to Armoor, Balkonda and Nizamabad Rural to irrigate two lakh acres have already started.

He later inspected two lands at DEO and Tahsildar offices for construction of an integrated market. He asked officials concerned to send proposals to start the works.
