Hyderabad: BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao called on senior party leader and former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, who is undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital after suffering a heart attack. He spent nearly an hour at the hospital with Sudarshan Reddy’s family members and later met the doctors to enquire about the health condition of the former MLA, who is undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Party sources said the BRS chief became emotional on seeing his long-time associate in critical care and appealed to the doctors to make every effort to save him.
According to the medical team, Sudarshan Reddy is receiving advanced critical care with consultations from specialists in India and abroad. Doctors informed Chandrashekar Rao that Sudarshan Reddy’s heart, lungs and other vital organs were functioning, but his brain required more time to recover. They said the next 48 hours would be crucial before a clearer assessment of his condition could be made.
The hospital management said a multidisciplinary team was continuously monitoring his condition through MRI scans and other diagnostic tests while consulting experts to ensure the best possible treatment.
The BRS chief assured Sudarshan Reddy’s family that the party would extend all necessary support, including financial assistance, and urged them not to lose hope. He expressed confidence that the former MLA would recover with the efforts of doctors, the blessings of the people and divine grace.
Earlier in the day, BRS working president KT Rama Rao visited Yashoda Hospital and met the medical team treating Sudarshan Reddy. He reviewed his health condition and the treatment being administered before interacting with the former MLA’s family members and assuring them of the party’s support. He requested the doctors to provide the best possible treatment to the senior BRS leader.
BRSLP deputy leader T Harish Rao also reached the hospital and held discussions with the doctors regarding Sudarshan Reddy’s health and the progress of his treatment. Minister D Seethakka, BJP MP Eatala Rajender and several senior BRS leaders also visited the hospital to enquire about Sudarshan Reddy’s condition.
Sudarshan Reddy was shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad from a private hospital in Hanamkonda after suffering a heart attack at his residence on Sunday. His condition is reported to be stable, according to doctors.
