Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based employee payroll solution and HR software Keka is looking to expand its offerings to the global markets and is targeting to set its foot in the US, Asia Pacific and European region in the next few years. With almost 3,700-plus customers in India and 26 other countries, the company is the preferred payroll and talent management system of brands like OYO, Vedanta, Dream11, Hitachi, upGrad, Hitachi and OnePlus among others.
The company started operations in 2015 and was born out of its founder Vijay Yalamanchili’s own need for an efficient and hassle-free HR platform for his IT services company Technovart. “At that time the existing HR platforms were cumbersome user experience. That is when we thought of using our expertise in the software field and also our needs for an HR platform and develop our own platform. That is how Keka was born in 2015 and after working on building it for over a year, in 2016 we were able to launch our product in the market,” said Yalamanchili.
Major features of Keka, according to Yalamanchili, are automation of redundant HR roles, AI-drive employee behaviour engine and the recently launched product remote working engagement and performance evaluation platform unveiled during the pandemic. It provides a company with a feature-rich payroll capability that takes the pain away from doing payroll-related tasks and firms from 20 to 20,000 employees can run these tools and features. In addition, companies can configure the payroll processes to suit their needs and demands while ensuring 100 per cent compliance.
“We are witnessing 90 per cent month-on-month growth and the pandemic has accelerated our growth process. We are also getting a few requests from government organisations, companies based in tier-2 and 3 cities, and NGOs as well. We are also looking at markets like the US, Asia Pacific and the European region for our next leg of expansion,” said Yalamanchili.
