Khairatabad Government Degree College conducts week-long education programme
Government Degree College (Autonomous), Khairatabad organised “Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika – Education Week” featuring literary activities, yoga sessions, SDG awareness initiatives, Library Day celebrations, and women empowerment programmes, along with the release of “Illumine Literati 2026” and multiple academic collaborations.

Hyderabad: Government Degree College (Autonomous), Khairatabad, successfully conducted the “Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika – Education Week” from May 11 to 17.
During the valedictory programme, the English department released its student literary magazine titled “Illumine Literati 2026”, containing original literary works in different genres written by the college students.
The department also signed an MoU with Youngistaan Foundation to promote social responsibility and awareness regarding Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The initiative facilitated by assistant professor of English Roopna Ravindran is aimed at establishing Youngistaan Clubs in the institution and organising workshops and internships for students.
Apart from conducting a special yoga and meditation session by yoga master P Pandu, the college signed an MoU to offer a certificate course in Yoga for students and faculty members.
The college also celebrated Library Day under the guidance of Dr Vidyasagar, Librarian. An exhibition of books and learning resources was arranged to encourage reading habits and academic engagement among students.
During the event, the Women Empowerment Cell organised a felicitation programme following the successful completion of the Girl Boss Programme, an initiative designed to make girl students career-ready and confident future leaders. The week-long programme was organised under the leadership of principal Prof K Prabhu and vice principal Vinayaka Kumar, with participation from faculty members, students, and various departments of the college.
