Khairatabad police arrest scooter owner for using fake registration number

Khairatabad police arrested D Robert Samuel for allegedly using a scooter registration number assigned to another vehicle, causing wrongful traffic challans to the actual owner. Following a complaint, police registered a case, traced the accused, and seized the vehicle.

Hyderabad: The Khairatabad police on Tuesday arrested a scooter owner for using a registration number allotted to some other vehicle and cheating the authorities.

According to the police, the man, D Robert Samuel (41), a resident of Anandnagar in Khairatabad, owned a scooter and was using a registration number TS08HS7658 allotted to another vehicle.


The owner of the vehicle, T Srikanth, who was allotted the registration number TS08HS7658, was receiving challans for traffic violations that he had not committed. On a complaint from Srikanth, the police registered a case and tracked down Samuel. The vehicle was seized.
